Soils of India
There is a total of six (6) types of soils in India and those are Alluvial soil, Regur soil (black soil), Red soil, Laterite soil, Sandy soil (desert soil), and Mountainous soil.
(1) Alluvial soil:- This soil is brought by the water of the river. It is very fertile. This soil is suitable for peddy and sugarcane crops. This soil is found in the plains of the river- The Ganga, The Godavari, The Krishna, The Kaveri, and The Mahanadi.(3) Red soil:- Due to the presence of a large number of Iron contents, its color is red. It is found in Madya Pradesh, Chottanagpur, Orrisa, Andra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, And Karnataka.
(4) Laterite soil:- This soil is made by the breaking of laterite rocks. this type of soil is suitable for tea-plantation. it is found in Eastern ghat, Western ghat, Rajmahal, and Assam.
(5) Sandy (Desert) soil:- Lacks of organisms are found in this type of soil. it is found where rain is scanty. This soil is not suitable for agriculture and it is found in Rajasthan.
(6) Mountainous soil:- This type of soil is found on the slopes of the mountain like Himalaya regions and it is suitable for Tea and Peddy.
