  About Wind System The pressure differences in the major cause of the genesis of the Wind system. The air moves from high pressure to low pressure. The slope of the pressure from high to low is called the pressure gradient, which is also called a barometric slope.  These are the steady currents of air blowing from the subtropical high-pressure belt towards the low-pressure belt. Under the influences of the Coriolis force, they flow from North-East in the northern hemisphere and from the South-East in the Southern hemisphere.
